Rochester Hills and the land that makes up southeast Michigan resides on the lands of the Anishinaabe, known as the Three Fires Confederacy, comprised of the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi.

In recognizing the history and respecting Michigan’s Indian Nations, we honor Indigenous communities. We commit ourselves to fostering inclusion of the First Peoples, their arts, and their history. The respect and preservation of customs and traditions of Indigenous nations are essential to our shared cultural heritage.
