“Grounded” by Richard McClellan
I am the echo of the past,
Bouncing through a dream.
Shadows hurry swiftly past,
Freezing like a winter stream.
I am the voice of reason.
Am I the foundation?
As the eagle rides the seasons,
I soar above with reservation.
Changes come and changes go,
Grounded like a power pole,
Bearing wires row by row,
Deep within the anchored hole.
Grounded through each change,
My foundation firmly set.
Moving forward to rearrange,
With devotion that won't forget.
